Sailing & Maritime History
I learned to sail in Santa Barbara, California and have cruised throughout the Salish Sea, Mexico, Croatia, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean, often conducting research at the same time. Currently I write a column for 48° North Sailing Magazine on lighthouses and maritime history. Click the button below for a selected list of publications.

My experience working at Yosemite National Park while in college sparked my interest in environmental history, public lands, interpretation, and tour organizing. This section lists selected publications, including links to articles.
